Speak About Your Family in Italian Language: How to Say Sister and Brother in Italian

Welcome back to How to learn Italian with me. Today’s Italian lesson is focused on learning how to introduce your family to a friend of yours. You will need to know how to say sister, brother, mother, dad in Italian language and how to create right sentences in Italian language. Imagine that your friend Luca come to your house and want to meet your family, here is how you can introduce him to your family and vice versa.

Conversation In Italian – Conversazione

Luca: Hello, Mrs Rossi.
Ita: Buongiorno, signora Rossi.

Mrs Rossi: Hello, Luca. How are you?
Ita: Ciao, Luca, Come stai?

Luca: I’m OK, thanks.
Ita: Sto bene, grazie.

John: Luca, this is my father. Dad this is Luca. He’s a friend from school.
Ita: Luca, questo è mio padre. Papà questo è Luca. Lui è un mio amico di scuola.

Luca: Hello, Mr Rossi.
Ita: Salve, Signor Rossi.

Mr Rossi: Hello, Luca.
Ita: Ciao, Luca.

John: And this is Mario. He’s my brother. We’re twins.
Ita: E questo è Mario. Lui è mio fratello. Siamo gemelli.

Luca: I know Mario from school. Hello.
Ita: Ho conosciuto Mario a scuola. Ciao.

Mario: Hi! Nice to meet you.
Ita: Ciao! Piacere di conoscerti.

John: And this is Angela. She’s my little sister.
Ita: E questa è Angela. Lei è la mia sorellina.

Luca: Nice to meet you Angela.
Ita: Piacere di conoscerti Angela.

  7. Marco, tengo duda con la pronunciacion de la particula “gl” en italiano. Por ejemplo en la palabra voglio: he escuchado que algunos italianos pronuncian este sonido como “l” (volio) y otras veces como “y” (voyio). Que es correcto y por que pasa esto? Grazie mile per la tua risposta!
