In Italian the Determinative Article “the” is translated into different articles:

IL (most of the time – Masculine Singular)

LO (before s or z starting nouns – Masculine Singular)

I (most of the time – Masculine Plural)

GLI (before sz , vowels starting nouns - Masculine Plural)

LA (Feminine Singular)

LE (Feminine Plural)

EXAMPLES:
